Avenue Q

Tuesday, 13 August - Saturday, 17 August 2019
Comedy, Southport Theatre
Avenue Q is part flesh, part felt and all heart. It's the laugh out loud show that’s had sell out runs on Broadway, in the West End and all across the UK and now you can see what all the fuzz is about at Southport Theatre at the Waterfront. This cheekily charming musical tells the story of the loveable (and unforgettable) characters on a downtown New York street trying to make sense of life’s burning issues – like what do you do with a BA in English? How do you find your purpose? And is the internet really just for…nevermind. Packed with mischief, bad behavior and a little political incorrectness, AVENUE Q is truly the musical like no other - so don’t let your life suck, book your tickets today! Created by Jeff Marx and Robert Lopez (Co-creator of BOOK OF MORMON and writer of the songs for Disney’s FROZEN). From the producers of Footloose, Flashdance and American Idiot. Avenue Q has not been authorised or approved by the Jim Henson Company or Sesame Workshop, which have no responsibility for its content. This production is by arrangement with Music Theatre International (Europe) Ltd., London.

Jason Byrne: Wrecked But Ready

Comedy, Southport Theatre
The King of The Southport Comedy Festival returns for a 6th year with a brand-new show, Wrecked But Ready. After 23 consecutive years Jason is wrecked but he is as ever ready (which is a battery, but he’s more Duracell than Eveready). As seen on ‘Live at the Apollo’ (BBC1), ‘The Royal Variety Show’ (ITV1), ‘Don’t Say It bring It’ (Dave), ‘Wild Things’ (Sky) and recently seen judging ‘Ireland’s Got Talent’ (TV3). He’s truly ‘unmissable’ (Evening Standard) and “Consistently brilliant” (The Metro)

James Acaster COLD LASAGNE HATE MYSELF 1999

Thursday, 10 October 2019 - 19:30
Comedy, Floral Hall
Little Wander in association with PBJ Management present… James Acaster COLD LASAGNE HATE MYSELF 1999 One time I bought a lasagne from the supermarket, heated it up in the oven and ate a bit of it and it wasn't very nice so I put it in the fridge because it felt wrong to dump a whole lasagne in the bin and then later on I ate a spoonful of the cold lasagne because I was drunk and it was absolutely delicious. It was 4am. I then changed the name of a WhatsApp I was a part of to COLD LASAGNE HATE MYSELF 1999 because I had been thinking a lot about how 1999 was the best year of my life and also about how much I hate myself sometimes. The next day I was asked to name my new show. Come along.
